Put-In-Bay

The campout to Put-In-Bay was a very exciting and pretty leisurely one. The camping area was very cramped.  First off, we did not have to cook any of our meals because the troop from the area cooked it for us.  During that weekend, everywhere you looked you would see celebrating the anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie.  Our troop participated in a parade leading to the tower that was built for Oliver H. Perry.  After this everyone explored the city and some rode bikes around.  Some of the fun activities that people participated in were biking, making a stop at the candy store, taking the winery tour, seeing the crystal cave, or taking the tour of Perry’s cave.  In the morning on Sunday, half of the troop went to the top of the tower.  At the top you could see many of the islands in Lake Erie, which was a beautiful view.  Going home that day was a disappointment because everyone had had fun while camping on the island of Put-in
